About Maeve

I'm Maeve, a ghostwriter, writing coach, and coauthor who helps people find their most authentic voices and powerful stories. I'm trained and experienced in trauma-informed writing practices, which means I can guide you through writing about a variety of challenging subjects in a way that feels safe and supported. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, I have a Bachelor's degree from Sarah Lawrence College, and an investigative journalism award from my years as a reporter in New Mexico and New York. I was a freelance writer and editor for over 20 years before I began ghostwriting blogs, essays, articles, and then books.

I'm also known as Molly Maeve Eagan as an author and cofounder of Never Stand Alone, USA, which advocates for abuse victims from conservative and sheltered religious communities.

My ghostwriting journey began in 2018 when I was introduced to Lizzie Hershberger, who wanted help writing a book about growing up Amish. Through our work together, with the MeToo movement making headlines, I uncovered a much deeper story and Lizzie decided to go public with a story she thought she'd never tell. In 2021, we published the groundbreaking memoir, Behind Blue Curtains, which sparked an underground revolution in Anabaptist communities across the U.S. The book now how has over 1,300 reviews and continues to sell worldwide. And Lizzie's story will be the subject of a PBS documentary airing in 2026. Several other clients have published successful books, essays, and blogs, but most importantly established a consistent writing practice that has freed their voices and stories.

I've also worked with nonprofit organizations like PAVE and Hope, Healing & Transformation to provide free writing workshops that help trauma survivors use writing to find their voices and reclaim their narratives.

I now coach, write, and edit for private clients, as well as host online and in-person writing workshops in the Hudson Valley.
