Whether you’re just starting out, muddling through the middle, or completing your memoir, this workshop will provide accountability, momentum, and support through your writing journey.
Join a dynamic community of writers on the same path. Learn to engage your authentic voice and turn your life experience into a compelling, page-turning story.
Each workshop will include craft presentations, writing time, breakout groups, and optional sharing.
Week One:
Learn strategies to overcome writer’s block and establish a consistent writing practice. Explore and express your authentic storytelling voice.
Week Two:
Create a “roadmap” structure for a cohesive story. Demystify what to include and what to leave out.
Week Three:
Mine for memories and tapping into emotional memory. Self-care through challenging material to avoid burnout.
Week Four:
Write unique dialogue and complex characters.
Week Five:
Hook readers with foreshadowing, cliffhangers, atmospheric tension, and show versus tell.
Week Six:
Options for sharing your story, including traditional, self, and hybrid publishing; editing and marketing.
